New Name Same Community Feeling
Cornerstone Church, formerly First Southern Baptist Church, has been a part of the Colorado Springs community for over 75 years. We are a welcoming church family dedicated to helping people grow in their faith, connect with others, and experience God’s love. With a long history of service and community involvement, Cornerstone continues to be a place where everyone can find encouragement, support, and a home to belong.
Our Legacy
Faith Baptist Church was organized on Sunday, December 30th, 1951, with the goal of reaching what was then the Northeast side of Colorado Springs with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In February of 1952, it was renamed First Southern Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, under which it did ministry for nearly 75 years. During that time, the church had a tremendous impact and influence not only on Colorado Springs but across the region as well. A few historical moments that stand out include:
Over the next 70 years, the church continued to be a vibrant light in Colorado Springs, as can be attested by the thousands of baptisms and 11 churches it planted in the region. Continuing with the desire to reach Colorado Springs, in October of 2025, the Church voted unanimously
to change its name again, this time to Cornerstone Church.
By building on the legacy of those who have gone before us, our goal is to be a church that truly is once again a cornerstone for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Colorado Springs for the next 75 years as we strive to make disciples who worship, grow, and go.

What we believe
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.
It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.
It reveals the principles by which God judges us and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried.
